April 11 is the day of remembrance of the ghetto prisoners

холоOn this day in 1945, the uprising of the prisoners of the concentration camp "Buchenwald" took place, as a result of which many German soldiers were captured and evidence of the criminals was preserved. In memory of this day, we publish an article by Michael Laitman, a person who survived the Catastrophe.

Never again!

My parents were lucky to survive the Catastrophe. But two-thirds of my relatives died in the death camps. Therefore, having been born in 1946, I grew up in the heavy shadow that the war cast over my family and all of Eastern European Jewry. And the Catastrophe for me is not a distant memory, but a painful reminder of what can happen to us. And because of this feeling, I am haunted by the question: "How to prevent another Catastrophe?"

I feel like an ocean of hatred is flooding us. The signs of impending trouble have never been so clear. All international reports shout about the unprecedented growth of anti-Semitism. On the Day of Remembrance of the Catastrophe, the BBC asked: "Isn't it time we stopped talking about the Catastrophe?" A scientific conference on the legitimacy of the existence of the state of Israel is planned in England. The agreement on Iran's nuclear program is signed, which is further proof that we cannot rely on "our allies".

All this causes great concern for our future. And yet a new Catastrophe can still be prevented. Only grief about the past is not enough for this. Tears must give way to a critical reflection on our current situation and the search for means to correct it. Why? Because we live in a closed and insensitive system of forces. And the law by which this system operates is the law of homeostasis - the balanced, harmonious existence of all system components. Therefore, if we act in accordance with this law, strive to create good, harmonious relations, then we feel good. And if we are divided, then this system forcefully brings us back to balance with it. And sometimes such a correction is accompanied by incredible suffering.

I know how difficult it is to read these lines for the survivors of the Catastrophe and their families. And yet, the truth must be pronounced: The catastrophe occurred because the people of Israel did not act according to this law of unity. You will ask: why exactly we? Because in the fulfillment of this law we have a special responsibility - since the time of Abraham.

Abraham, the founder of our nation, revealed that the Law of Unity governs everything. And when increased selfishness divided the inhabitants of Ancient Babylon, Abraham began to teach the Babylonians the method of unification. The few who followed him later became the people of Israel. So, the implementation of this law is the meaning of the existence of our people. And the transmission of knowledge about it within us and to all the peoples of the world is the only justification for our existence.

At the beginning of the last century, we got the opportunity to return to the land of Israel - but not in order to build a "home for all Jews", but in order to regain the lost unity. Unfortunately, we didn't do it then. Many European Jews preferred to stay in their local communities or assimilate. And the reaction to this on the part of the Higher System was the Catastrophe.

A moment before the world choked with blood, the Kabbalists called out that we must return to our land and come to unity. But the Jews did not listen to them. Instead of uniting into a single nation of our own free will, we were brought together by the terrible suffering of the Catastrophe. After which they received statehood.

However, the present mandate for the existence of our state is not a decision of the UN, but our mission. As the Kabbalists write, the land we received was given to us only to implement the Law of Unity. And this is exactly what peace demands of us. Subconsciously, he wants us to achieve unity and transfer Abraham's methodology to him. And we still refuse to do this, causing anti-Semitism. And it can become the cause of the next Catastrophe...

Disaster Day and Independence Day should become the days of the realization of our mission. The days of rethinking the existence of our people. These days, we must gather at thousands of "round tables" all over Israel and figure out how to achieve true independence - from our selfishness - and rise from our baseless hatred to brotherly love. This is the only way we can guarantee the future for us and our children, to say with firm confidence: "Never again!"
