Director of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" Ihor Ratushny met with the coordinator of "Right Sector" in the Khmelnytskyi region Anatoly Medvedchuk. This meeting was another refutation of information from certain foreign media outlets that ultra-right nationalist organizations that promote anti-Semitism are rampant in Ukraine. The meeting took place at the "Thia" Community Center.
The leaders of both organizations discussed the tense situation that still prevails in the country and the city as a whole. "Right Sector" enjoys increased attention in the media and is "on the radar" of many of our fellow citizens. Many news reports attribute anti-Semitism to "Right Sector", which, in fact, does not correspond to reality. According to Anatoly Medvedchuk, the main task for which citizens have united in this organization is a fundamental change in the system of power, and not just the names in positions. For these activists, the revolution is not over yet, and the threat of a military conflict with Russia is more real than for anyone else.
At the same time, the members of the organization do not profess any of the anti-Semitic views attributed to them. In the near future, "Right Sector" will be registered as a public organization and party. This means that, like the Hesed Besht KhBF, "Right Sector" will legally have the status of a public organization and, together with other NGOs, will build the public of the Khmelnytskyi region.
Regarding the disturbing acts of vandalism that affected the building of the "Thia" Community Center and the construction of a memorial to the victims of the Proskuriv pogrom of 1919, Mr. Anatoliy was categorical: this was done by hooligans who violate the moral and ethical principles of society. Ihor Ratushny enlisted the support of the coordinator of the "Right Sector" in matters related to maintaining law and order and countering illegal or provocative acts.
