Visits of foreign guests, one way or another connected with the work of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" over the almost fifteen years of the organization's existence have become a common occurrence. However, not all visits are as eagerly awaited as the arrival of the Project Manager of the British Foundation "WJR" Edva Rodogovska, which took place on July 1. Over the past few years, this charitable organization from across the Channel has brought a lot of good to our clients, and even in this issue of the newspaper there are several materials related to the help of "WJR".
Edva Rodogovský turned out to be an extremely sensitive and kind woman. In principle, nothing else could be expected from a person who has connected her life with helping others. After all, her charitable foundation pursues an active policy of cooperation and assistance to those in need all over the world.
Before that, Edva had already been to Ukraine, spending some time in Kharkiv. Therefore, the life of local Jewish communities was familiar to her. However, visits to the Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions deeply impressed the experienced manager.
In our city, she had the opportunity to see for herself the effectiveness of the apartment renovation project supported by WJR. The director of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht” Ihor Ratushny accompanied the guest and introduced her to the life of the organization and the community. The visit to the “Thia” Community Center in Khmelnytskyi impressed the resident of a European country, primarily with its modern approach to social and cultural work with clients. The English-speaking guest used the word “incredible” several times, which means “incredible” in translation.
After Khmelnytskyi, Edva Rodogovský visited the Ternopil Community Center, in the construction of which the WJR Foundation also participated. The emotions from what she saw there were almost no different, and sometimes even outweighed the impressions from Khmelnytskyi. Already from abroad, after her visit, Edva sent a letter in which she expressed her admiration for our community. The program manager promised to make every effort to ensure that the assistance to our region from the British Foundation did not stop and that new connections were established with other sponsors and benefactors from around the world. Such a high assessment of our activities adds confidence in the need for our work for people, and stimulates us to work even better.
