The Lobachev family moved to Ternopil about two months ago. A difficult fate brought them here from the chaos-ridden Luhansk. “We heard from friends that it was quiet here,” says mother Tetyana, “so we packed up our belongings and ran away from home.” Father Andriy, with hopes of further employment, is currently working part-time to support his wife and six-year-old daughter Kharytina. The managers of the Ternopil Community Center, a representative office of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht,” came to the family’s aid.
A visit to the Lobach family by representatives of a charitable organization revealed the difficult situation of internally displaced persons. Temporary housing is quite satisfactory, but cramped for the family. In addition, the monthly rent for an apartment in winter, when energy prices have risen, threatens to leave the family penniless. “We received refugee status immediately and without any problems,” continues Tetyana, “but the paperwork did not end there.” Therefore, Kharytina does not have the right to attend kindergarten for free, although there are every reason for this. However, the world is not without good people and the girl has already settled in a kindergarten not far from home, but the issue of payment remains open.
In Ternopil, the family found new acquaintances, and Kharytyna found new friends. Everyone treats the newcomers with understanding, to the question “don’t the children offend?” the girl confidently answers “no!”. The family needs help with food, so our Foundation provided the “Shop” service for a significant amount of money. It is also planned to help Kharytyna buy clothes, because the meager things that were taken from home are not enough in the winter.
The Lobachev family lives with the hope of improving their financial situation. Our Fund employees are also actively involved in this, who are engaged in issues of accelerating the documentation of refugees in all instances. In Luhansk, Kharytina attended children's programs of the local "Hesed", so the desire to attend relevant programs and creative workshops in the Ternopil Community Center is also present in the little ones. Thus, people in a foreign city, thanks to our organization, feel confident, feel friendship and help, and are part of the Jewish community.
