Lecture by Anastasia Davydenko at the event “Give the Future”

In February, the attention of the whole world is focused on women's health issues. On the 4th of the month, World Cancer Day is celebrated. To this date, the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" together with the World Women's Organization "Project Kesher" hold women's health days, because women's oncological diseases prevail in the sad statistics of cancer in Ukraine and the world.

On December 30, in the hall of the Trade Unions of Social Workers, an event of activists of the "Project Kesher" for women trade union members and invited guests who are not indifferent to their health was held under the title "Give the Future". The meeting was organized by the head of the "Project Kesher" branch in Khmelnytskyi region Iryna Gerasymenyuk, the honored guest was the Chairman of the Trade Union of Social Workers of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine Oleksandr Tsyuzik. As a man, he spoke on behalf of all representatives of the "stronger sex" that women's health issues are not purely women's issues. After all, every man is obliged to take care of the well-being of his beloved, take care of the health of his mother or sister, and worry about subordinates in the team. Oleksandr Dmytrovych highly appreciated the work of the "Project Kesher" in society as useful and necessary.

Iryna Gerasimenyuk introduced Natalia Gerasimenko, an activist of the Kesher Project, a specialist in rehabilitation work, and manager of the Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation, who held an educational conversation with the participants of the event. Natalia Leonidivna, having extensive experience working with rehabilitation groups and possessing special charisma, is able to qualitatively convince people of the importance of taking care of their own health. Using successful examples and simple allegories, she laconically spoke about the achievements of the Kesher Project and updated women's attention to the insidiousness of cancer and the feasibility of systematic examinations at a doctor. She handed over the floor to a volunteer, Head of the Cytology Department of the Oncology Dispensary, Anastasia Davydenko, who gave a lecture to the audience on cancer incidence. This is not the first time Anastasia Dmytrivna has participated in the Kesher Project's actions. In a short time, she fully revealed the issue of the occurrence of breast and reproductive organ cancer, showed photos and graphs of the course of the disease, and even reported on ways to counteract these processes. She explained complex scientific terms and concepts extremely simply. “I’m telling you in a scary way so that you have more incentive to get tested,” Anastasia Dmytrivna defused the situation during the lecture.

And at the end of the event, the head of the youth wing of "Kesher Hadash" Olga Nikitina took the floor. In a few minutes, in a playful way, she took a promise from everyone present to undergo a medical examination by a doctor. This method is extremely effective, because every game has a touch of reality, and according to the activists of "Project Kesher" - this will play its role in motivating women to monitor their health.

And a few days later, on Monday, February 2, at the Thia Community Center, a women's examination was organized by oncologist-mammologist Harry Drobner, who is also a volunteer of the charity organization. On this day, he examined 61 women who came for an informal reception. In this way, it is possible to prevent early manifestations of the disease, which is always better than treating advanced forms of breast formations.

"Project Kesher" and the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" will continue their work on disease prevention and informing women about the causes and consequences of cancer. Joint efforts can prevent many sad consequences, so work in this area is simply impossible to stop. Special thanks to the volunteer doctors who always agree to participate in such events for the benefit of the whole society!
