On the fiftieth day of the Omer after Pesach, Shavuot comes - the holiday of the giving of the Torah to the Jewish people on Mount Sinai through the prophet Moshe. The history and traditions of the holiday were studied by young students of the Child Development Center of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht". In addition to theory, the little ones were given the opportunity to feel like adults: to read prayers, make kiddush and even prepare delicious dishes from dairy products, as tradition requires.
At the beginning, the children gathered at the festive table, where there were religious attributes: a kiddush cup, candles and, of course, the main reason for the holiday - the Torah. The children, who already know the letters well, could read prayers for everyone; the kiddush for grape juice was made by Ilya Nesterenko's father, who stayed with his wife at the holiday as honored guests. Everyone together remembered the Ten Commandments that guide the Jewish people through life. As in ancient times, today the Torah for children had a taste of honey. However, now the pages of the Book were not smeared with honey: everyone who took it in their hands tasted the sweet product separately, joining the thousand-year-old tradition.
The children had the opportunity to develop their creative potential at a quilling master class. Together, the kids decorated the drawing, twisting and gluing colored pieces of paper onto a prepared sheet. And after such a creative break, a real milk feast awaited the children, in the preparation of which they participated. And here: a cocktail with ice cream, and a cheesecake, and many other delicious things! Everyone had the opportunity to put some effort into preparing dishes that everyone enjoyed together.
