The Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" celebrated the fourteenth anniversary of its foundation on September 16, but the festive events lasted all last week. And although the date is not round, they decided to celebrate it in a special way - they held an International Conference on the Study of Judaic Objects in Ukrainian Museums. But this is part of the celebration, and the "birthday" itself was celebrated by the organization in the circle of friends, colleagues and, of course, its dear clients.
The solemn event took place in the Khmelnytskyi Regional Academic Theater named after N. Starytskyi, which on this day became a warm Jewish home. In the morning, the Foundation's team, headed by the Director, Honored Worker of the Social Sphere of Ukraine Ihor Ratushny, gathered for an unusual meeting, which normally takes place every Monday. Here, all together, the employees once again remembered what a year of joint painstaking work was for the benefit of the Jewish community of Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions, summed up the results and congratulated each other on another difficult but fruitful year.
And the hour was indeed not easy. The Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" had to overcome many difficulties and look for optimal ways to solve the problems of its clients in the conditions of a difficult and unstable situation in the state. But, despite this, an experienced team of professionals was able not only to stay afloat, but also to increase the range of services provided. This is how the programs "Shabbatny Box", "Renovation" appeared, the program "Warm House" and many others developed. The motto: "Reach to every client" has not lost its relevance, and the work of the Foundation continued to be carried out systematically and consistently. As a result: elderly people were not left without care and care, young clients and their parents - not only received material assistance, but also got to know the world of Jewish traditions together with the Keitan program and children's activities, and certainly no one was left alone, face to face with their problems.
Last year, special attention was paid to the elderly. To improve their well-being and provide better services, the Foundation launched several programs at once, which proved their effectiveness within an hour. One of them is a unique program against dementia (memory loss). Patronage workers of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" completed several seminars in an hour to improve the skills of caring for elderly clients. The organization also published another useful book from the "Hesed Besht Foundation Library" series for elderly people and their guardians - "A Step Towards". In it, questions related to the topic of aging and care are revealed; consulting information is provided, both for the client and for the patronage worker.
On the holiday itself, employees and clients of the Fund were congratulated by well-known friends, colleagues and partners. A new exhibition "Family Treasures", collected from the personal relics of the Foundation's clients, was opened for all guests in the hall of the theater. Here you could see old dishes, table attributes, photographs. Also, a master class on Israeli dances was held in the hall for everyone - an integral and much-loved element of most of the holidays held by Chesed Besht.
Many kind words were addressed to the Foundation and personally to the director Ihor Ratushny. The representative of the city authorities, head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection, Slavyan Voronetskyi noted in his congratulatory speech that the "Hesed Besht" Foundation is the best non-governmental social organization in Khmelnytskyi. Representatives of trade unions, national communities, and social organizations also congratulated. Choreographic compositions were performed by members of the dance group "Fire in the Heavens" (Khmelnytskyi regional department of the international fund "Nevermind People"). And the specially invited guests from the vocal group "Simha" (Hesed Emmouna, Vinnytsia) will be remembered for a long time by all the guests with their excellent performance of songs from a variety of repertoire.
A surprise for those present was the showing of the film "Baal Shem Tova Zavet", filmed in the video studio "New View" during the entire past year of the organization's work. And, of course, it was not without gifts and celebration. Since a lot was wished for the "birthday man" on this day, the "Hesed Besht" Foundation could not help but give something in return. Special commemorative signs "For doing good" were awarded to those people who worked side by side with Hesed for the benefit of our clients.
Ahead - an hour of intense work. Having finished celebrating the 14th anniversary, employees have already imperceptibly started preparing for the 15th anniversary. The best gift for the "Hesed Besht" CBF could be the purchase of the organization's building, which still cannot be given ownership. This requires a lot of money, but both employees and clients believe: if the Foundation does good, then this good will be returned. And the next "birthday" will be combined with an equally pleasant "housewarming".
