On February 16, the Thiya Community Center was visited by a nationally renowned expert on civic activism Oleksandr Solontay. The head of the practical politics program of the Institute of Political Education was brought to our city on a business trip, during which he worked with the Khmelnytskyi City Council. And, in fact, to our Community Center - the desire to meet with promising, thoughtful and active youth. Oleksandr Solontay got acquainted with the work of the Community Center “Thia” and the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht” in general. He was interested in the issues of cooperation with the authorities, the mechanisms and directions in which it takes place, as well as the social and cultural effect of such a tandem. The public figure highly appreciated the work of the Community Center programs and was pleasantly impressed by the interior of the premises.
The conversation with the youth was about the history of the development of the non-governmental sector in our country and its present. Arguably, examples were given that if each of us: "does not start to engage with society, then we will wait until society will definitely engage with it itself." Our youth asked various questions related to both the topic and the personal experience of the speaker.
