An extremely interesting and useful event called "Community Day" was held for members of the Jewish communities of the Khmelnytskyi region over the weekend. This was made possible thanks to the charitable organization World Jewish Relief, London, United Kingdom. Many of our clients are familiar with this philanthropist, thanks to the programs "Warm Home", "Home Repairs", "Ecological Project", programs to overcome loneliness and isolation. Today, all attention was focused on the issues of the present and future of our community.
The Khmelnytskyi Jewish community is a large and diverse family, where almost everyone knows everyone (at least by face) and, although they live scattered across the region, which is almost the size of Israel, they maintain friendly ties with each other. This is largely facilitated by the work of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" headed by Honored Social Worker of Ukraine Ihor Ratushny. The organization always takes care of the members of the community, organizes various events of a unifying nature and strives to support and develop the community.
A large and friendly team of organizers of the “Community Day” from Zaporizhzhia, led by Olena Kravchenko, began preparing for this, without exaggeration, holiday even before the meeting. Station indicators were placed in the hall, a photo zone was set up, and all conditions were created for a comfortable stay and fruitful work. Employees of the Hesed Besht KhBF also made their contribution, and the team of scribes designed everything in a single artistic style.
On the morning of November 12, people began to arrive at the event. At first individually, and later in whole groups, so that at the appointed time the "Community Day" began without force majeure. In addition to Khmelnytskyi, community members from Kamianets-Podilskyi and Shepetivka were present.
By the lunch break, under the close mentorship of the organizing team, the participants of the meeting got to know each other and could already feel free in the collective. They once again talked about what a community is for them and found out their place in it. After lunch, the seminar took on a more practical color. Now the participants generally clarified and discussed their vision of the development of the community, the ways of its development or even reformation.
All the work was preserved both in written form and in the canvas created by the scribes during the event. We express our sincere gratitude to the organization World Jewish Relief for this wonderful "Community Day", which allowed us to come together once again and address important issues of the Jewish community of our region.
