Our clients have not been visiting Hesed for six months due to quarantine restrictions. In order to maintain contact with them and ensure the participation of clients in the cultural life of the community, we hold various online events. However, older people and those deprived of the physical ability to move freely due to health problems are usually unable to participate in those events due to the lack of gadgets.
We thought about how we could help them, and we found a solution. The Window to the World project really opened up a wide world to that category of clients. As part of this project, we purchased 6 tablets. We soon realized that older people had successfully switched from gadgets to “you” in a short time. How did this happen? A volunteer or fund manager is assigned to each client who received a tablet as a gift, and they conduct individual classes 1-2 times a week. The training continues, and each time the users’ opportunities to interact with modern technologies expand.
Now, thanks to this project, our clients join interesting online broadcasts conducted by specialists from the Hesed Besht Foundation, feel the support of a friend, communicate on social networks, and widely use the simply limitless possibilities of the Internet.
