The art of photography has developed rapidly since the creation of cameras and their distribution among people. Today, anyone can join the ranks of amateur photographers by purchasing a camera or using simple cameras on numerous electronic devices. But once, such an occupation was not within everyone's power. The Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" organized a photo exhibition, where both amateur beginners and true professionals from among the clients, volunteers or visitors of the charitable organization could present their works.
Ten amateur photographers took part in the exhibition. According to the terms of the event, each submitted five or six works of any subject and composition for presentation. Here you could see both portrait photographs and landscapes, staged photographs or filmed random shots.
There were no winners or losers here: only the exchange of knowledge and skills, discussion of photographs and expression of emotions from what they saw. Each author received a certificate of participation in the event, which should motivate artists to take new pictures. After all, for a good photo you need not only to click the shutter in time, but also to invest a piece of your soul in this physical action. Anyone who came to the Thiya Community Center could visit the exhibition.
A photograph taken in the last century deserves special attention. Its author, a client of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht”, Oleksandr Henvin. The portrait photo he presented for the exhibition, back in 1987, won third place at the republican photo exhibition. Looking at the photograph, it is impossible not to notice the color of that era, to be imbued with the emotions captured in the photograph. Young photographers could make sure from the experience of their elders that a photograph that is more than a quarter of a century old but was taken without modern cameras but by a true master does not lose its relevance.
