Expanding the worldview of young people with intellectual disabilities at the "Family Comfort" Rehabilitation Center in cooperation with the "School of Health" Rehabilitation Center

The Director of the Center, Antonina Pavlivna Korchynska, and specialists, setting the goal of teaching young people with intellectual disabilities to see the beauty of their native nature, to acquire knowledge and skills of the rules of behavior in public places, outside the city, use the method of targeted excursions in their work.
On April 28, 2017, the Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation organized a trip and interesting leisure, accompanied by specialists, for the wards of the Center and the Khmelnytskyi Fund for Social Protection and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities from Childhood to the "School of Health" Rehabilitation Center in the village of Pechiske.
The Center's wards' leisure is and is organized systematically by the Center's employees. By organizing the trip, in cooperation with the charitable foundation, we tried to give them the opportunity to get closer to nature, enjoy the scenery, take a break from everyday life, and practically get acquainted with the "School of Health" rehabilitation center and the features of its activities.
Specialists of the Rehabilitation Center "School of Health" organized an interesting and entertaining program for the wards: they played classical and Ukrainian folk songs on the piano, and the wards sang and danced a waltz to the piano; each wards tried to join in the improvised game. The wards had the opportunity to watch interesting video stories about disabled but talented people in the art of dance. In addition, we are very grateful to the employees for the delicious breakfast and lunch.
After that, the specialists took the young people to a clearing, an adjacent territory, from where the road and fields were visible, where they had the opportunity to relax, pick dandelions for weaving wreaths and enjoy the unique aromas of flowering trees; take part in games, competitions, and conversations in comfortable gazebos, singing Ukrainian and modern songs.
The specialists also focused the students' attention on the rules of safe behavior when organizing such trips out of town and behavior in a group.
The excursion caused a lot of positive emotions, because most of the wards are in the closed walls of apartments, in limited communication, and they "see" the world around them only from a closed window. That is why cooperation with other rehabilitation centers is important and necessary for our youth, this leisure activity organized by the employees of the "School of Health" Center in natural conditions gave the opportunity to get to know nature, hear it, touch it and understand the importance of a careful attitude towards the world around us and towards each other.
The administration, employees, parents, and wards of the "Family Comfort" Rehabilitation Center are grateful to the director of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation Hesed Besht Ratushny, Igor Oleksandrovych, for many years of fruitful cooperation and the organization of joint trips and events.
