On September 27, 2018, the city fund for the disabled "Dobrota" together with the Khmelnytskyi charitable foundation "Hesed Besht" organized an excursion to Medzhybizh for Khmelnytskyi residents with physical disabilities as part of the city social program "Zhyttelyub".
The town became famous all over the world thanks to its Jewish shrines and the Medzhybizh fortress. During the Sukkot holiday, Hasidim from Israel and other countries gather here, and tourist groups also visit the fortress every day. It would seem that Medzhybizh is within easy reach of Khmelnytskyi, but the vast majority of the participants of our excursion visited this town for the first time.
With great interest, the excursionists visited the burial place of the Baal Shem Tov and the old Jewish cemetery, where many ancient monuments have survived, looked at the newly built Jewish quarter by the Hasids, visited the site of the mass extermination of the Jewish population during the Great Patriotic War, and honored the memory of the innocently tortured.
