Jewish sages say that studying the Torah is equivalent to fulfilling all the commandments. Why is that? It's simple: studying the Torah leads to fulfilling all the other commandments. The Torah is the wisdom of the Most High, so studying it is an opportunity to touch the Creator himself through Divine wisdom. The obligation to study the Torah extends not only to the sages and rabbis, but to all Jews, for it is said: "It is the inheritance of the community of Jacob."
For several years now, our Hesed has had a Midrash Cafe. Anyone who has ever been there still maintains their loyalty to the club. Because they have experienced for themselves that studying the Torah makes a person spiritual, purified, and elevated. It is said about the Torah: “It is wider than the sea.” It is studied throughout life. And we are glad that we once initiated such a program and can help all interested members of our community study the boundless wisdom of the Torah. During quarantine, classes were suspended more than once, but we resume them at the slightest opportunity. So this time the club resumed its work after the red zone and numerous days off. On Sunday, January 16, in full compliance with the quarantine rules, we listened to another weekly Torah section, and also talked about the Jewish holiday of Tu B'Shvat.
