Participants of the Youth Club and volunteers of the Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation learned more about Purim, the most joyful holiday in the Jewish tradition, a holiday of light and joy.
During exciting board games Our guests learned that Purim is celebrated in memory of the salvation of the Jews from complete destruction during the reign of King Ahasuerus, who ruled the Persian Empire. The king's official Haman decided to destroy all the Jews and cast lots (pur) to choose the time for this. The holiday got its name Purim from the word "pur". But Haman's plans were not destined to come true. The Almighty, manifesting His divine will through the wisdom and determination of Mordecai and the sacrifice of Queen Esther, saved the Jewish people.
All guests tasted gomentashi – “Aman’s ears” and shared their interesting stories.
