"Winged by a pink ribbon"

On October 11, 2019, women of all ages gathered at the Khmelnytskyi Regional Art Museum to take part in the art marathon “Winged by a Pink Ribbon”. The event was held as part of the World Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It was prepared and conducted by employees of the Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation, participants of the Kesher Project Iryna Gerasimenyuk, Natalia Gerasimenko, and project volunteer Olga Nikitina.

Until now, oncologist-mammologist G.Y. Drobner has always participated in such events. He conducted extensive educational work among women of the region, performed breast examinations, and saved many lives. Recently, Harry Iosypovych, our great friend, passed away. We dedicated this art marathon to the bright memory of G.Y. Drobner and asked all participants of the event to light a candle in memory as a sign of respect and love for the devoted doctor.

The marathon was very interesting: the attendees got acquainted with the traveling photo exhibition of Vinnytsia artist N. Bazyleva. Her models are women who know firsthand what cancer is. They overcame this disease and teach others not to give up. Kateryna Zubatyuk, a doctor at the Khmelnytskyi Oncology Clinic, held a conversation with the participants, performed a professional examination of the mammary glands, and gave specific recommendations to those who needed it. All attendees were also offered handouts on the topic.

The helping hand from the Kesher Project is always effective. And it's inspiring!
