The Thiya Community Center has started an autumn camp as part of the Keitana holiday program for school-age children. At a time when schools have let their students go on vacation, employees of the Hesed Besht charitable foundation are getting down to business so that children spend their time not only relaxing, but also with benefit. The camp gives them this opportunity: there are fun outdoor games, Judaic classes, interesting trainings and classes, as well as a good company of peers and a wonderful opportunity to get together.
Classes at the camp begin with a warm-up. As expected, most of the simple exercises for children here are conducted by high school students - former students of the “Beiteinu” children's program and current madrichs of the Youth Club or volunteers of the All-Ukrainian volunteer network “Community”. Helping teenagers not only allows the employees of the Community Center to relieve themselves of work and organize processes more carefully - this is a necessary phase of helping others in the upbringing of Jewish youth, which forms responsibility and integrates young people into active Jewish life. Therefore, the madrichs of this camp enjoy special authority.
Among the many activities available to children at the camp, outdoor games are currently the leading ones. The last warm days of autumn encourage children to walk more, play with leaves, and be outdoors, as school, desks, and textbooks will soon be back.
