For almost a year, the project "Lessons of Historical Truth" has been operating in our Hesed. It has given its participants the opportunity to actively study and learn about the Jewish historical and cultural heritage throughout this period. As part of the project, we visited the holy places of Medzhybozh, Satanov, Yampol, the graves of Jewish righteous men, the mass graves of victims of Nazism in Kamianets-Podilskyi, in Bilogirskyi, Dunayevets, Novoushytskyi, Teofipolskyi, Izyaslavskyi and other areas.
We virtually "visited" Israel, held a roundtable meeting on the publication of the literary and journalistic collection "Shtetl" No. 7, published in memory of the victims of the Proskuriv Jewish pogrom of 1919. As part of the project, we had interesting conversations, film screenings, and discussions.
Yesterday we gathered for the last time in 2019. As we close the project, we very much hope that this much-needed work will continue next year. We enjoyed sandwiches, coffee, and pastries, and had a casual conversation about what we managed to do and what aspects need special attention in the future.
