Double the celebration – twice the good mood!

The holiday of Tu B'Shvat reminds Jews that wherever they live, they are inextricably linked to the land of Israel. On February 10 (15 Shevat according to the Jewish calendar), we will celebrate this beautiful and life-affirming holiday. It is also called the new year of trees. Why? Because all fruits that ripen after this date are considered the harvest of the next year. There is a special order (seder) for holding the holiday. And on January 31, the women's group of the Kesher project held a thematic Shabbat, combining the traditions of the holiday of Tu B'Shvat with the traditions of the Sabbath.

It was a very positive and pleasant celebration. Everything was according to the Shabbat tradition: lighting candles, blessing the grape drink and challah, Shabbat songs. On the table, in addition to the Shabbat treats, there were – natureno 7 fruits for Tu B'Shevat. We remembered the traditions of the holiday, its symbolism, and conducted an interesting communicative exercise, the essence of which was to tell what kind of tree our neighbor looks like and why we think so. It was fun, interesting, and informative.
