One of the favorite ways to spend free time on Shabbat is to gather together for fruitful communication and fun – a Shabbaton. At the Thiya Community Center, a corresponding meeting was held on the eve of the Sabbath meeting, when it was still possible to work with your hands.
Shabbaton brought together 33 members of the Jewish community. The event was led by Public Relations Manager Lyudmila Shvartsman and Client Relations Manager Olga Nikitina. The Foundation's volunteer Svitlana Mikhailovna Itkina introduced all participants to the Weekly Torah Chapter. Together, the participants created a Shabbat-themed painting using salt dough, decorative elements, and dried herbs. The painting will complement the exhibition of clients' works in the Community Center.
A separate pleasant surprise for the participants was learning new Shabbat songs. And, of course, the central violin in the Shabbaton orchestra was played by a mysterious act - Kabbalat Shabbat.
From now on, such Shabbatons will bring community members together every Friday. The only exception will be the days of Pesach in mid-April. But even then, groups of Foundation clients will gather for a Seder.
