Recently, the literary and journalistic collection Shtetl No. 8 was published, dedicated to the theme “We are the people!”. The prophet Isaiah said of the Jewish people: “A light to the nations of the world.” And indeed: they made many vital discoveries, left humanity with a lot of wisdom. The Jewish people gave the world Moses and Jesus of Nazareth. “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one” – these words, first spoken in the barren desert, have flourished in other religions.
The publication of the collection was preceded by painstaking work by the editorial board. They spared no effort or time to ensure that the publication was filled with useful information and worthy of such a vast topic.
The collection widely presents the sections "Charity", "Traditions", "Publicism", "History and Local History", "Dedicated to the Eternally Alive", "Practice of Judaism" and others. One of these days, Shtetl No. 8 will appear in the city's libraries. We very much hope that it will become another cementing element of our community, and will serve as a textbook of tolerance for people of different nationalities.
