Exchange of experience is an extremely important process for people who aspire to be professionals. As part of the cooperation, exchange of cultural heritage and work experience, Khmelnytskyi was visited by guests from “Hesed Shaarei Zion” in Odessa. Colleagues from the “Hesed Besht” Foundation not only contributed to a fruitful seminar and demonstrated their achievements, but also organized an extensive cultural and educational program.
During the visit, a group of Odessans visited the town of Medzhibizh. Here they had the opportunity to visit a Jewish shrine - the grave of the tzaddik Baal Shem-Tov and the synagogue where the founder of Hasidism prayed. The gates of the historical and cultural reserve "Mezhybizh", the main object of which is an old fortress, were also opened to the guests.
Employees of the Khmelnytskyi Children's Charity Foundation "Hesed Besht" demonstrated the work of the Rehabilitation Center "School of Health" in the village of Pecheski. The Odessa colleagues came here just at the time when the group of the Day Development Center was working here. Thus, it was possible to observe firsthand the work of Khmelnytskyi residents, communicate with colleagues and clients.
The excursion part also included a trip to Kamianets-Podilskyi with a visit to the Foundation's office there. Then the guests were shown the local fortress. It is worth noting that for Odessans the fortress is something like the Potemkin Stairs and the sea for Khmelnytskyi - extraordinary, interesting and very beautiful. Thus, during the visit there were several opportunities to walk around the fortresses.
Colleagues from both organizations celebrated Shabbat together. Our employees prepared fragments of the play "Jewish Town," which delighted and moved their friends.
Director of “Hesed Shaarei Zion” Anatoly Keselman highly appreciated the achievements of our “Hesed” and thanked on behalf of the entire team for the warm welcome. Odessa residents will implement much of what they saw in their work in their organization. In turn, methods borrowed from colleagues from the eastern region will work in Khmelnytskyi and the regions.
