A lesson in historical truth
The entire history of the Jewish people is full of tragic events. It is not clear why there is a big prejudice against a people who have done so much for the development of mankind, as if it is written on their lineage to suffer and die innocently. One of the episodes of the mass massacre of Jews is the terrible massacre of February 15, 16, and 18, 1919, organized by the forces of the loyal Directorate of Troops. Then in Proskurovo and Felshtyna, a total of about 2,200 people died. As part of the events for the 100th anniversary of the Proskurovsky Jewish pogrom, a lesson on historical truth was held for students of the Humanitarian and Pedagogical Academy and the youth of our city at the "Hesed Besht" HBF.
Of course, young people learned a lot from the history of Proskurov and the history of the Jewish people. Based on how attentively, in complete silence, they listened to the horrifying facts of the massacre, we can conclude: the tragedy deeply affected everyone and everyone.
The topic of Jewish pogroms is painful, but at the same time instructive. After all, even now, not everything is calm in society, there are demands that will divide the people, turn each other against each other. We very much hope that the youth will be more tolerant and benevolent towards people of other nationalities and religions after what they heard, that the lesson learned in our walls will be another warning against participating in acts of violence and malice.
