On International Theater Day, we invited a person to the Thiya Community Center who once revolutionized local theater, filling it with innovative ideas. Even today, the name of Oleksandr Petrovych Shymansky, Honored Choreographer of Ukraine, is well-known and respected in the city. Our clients were able not only to warmly welcome the artist, but also to pleasantly surprise him with an introduction to his almost thirty-year career.
When at the beginning of your career Oleksandr Shymansky came to the then Petrovsky Musical and Drama Theater, his work was not immediately understood. The young and talented choreographer proposed to combine performances with choreographic productions, which no one had done before. He was openly dismissed, but the artist did not give up and insisted on his own. With great efforts, his first work got on stage. And the next day - he woke up as a "People's Artist". At our event, he told us that after that he was recognized on the streets, and shopkeepers who sold fabrics offered him and the acting troupe materials for costumes for free, so that they would not stop there.
Oleksandr Shymansky was visiting the Community Center for the first time, although his native theater is located on a neighboring street. At first, he was a little wary, because he did not know what kind of audience he would be dealing with. But when he saw our clients who came with flowers, everything fell into place. People impressed him with their deep knowledge of his creative work: they talked about their memories and impressions of the performances, recalled interesting moments. Our employees prepared sheets with photos of the artist for the participants of the meeting, on which he wrote wishes and signed autographs for the grateful audience. We ourselves do not remember when clients lined up to get an autograph from an invited guest. Such recognition touched the choreographer.
The event was full of goodwill and respect. Oleksandr Petrovych highly appreciated this meeting, and our clients will long remember Theater Day, when the star descended from the stage into their comfortable Jewish home.
