World Jewish Knowledge Day

The participation of our Foundation and partner organizations in Global Day of Jewish Learning). This year, the Thiya Community Center planned a variety of events for people of all ages, from toddlers to the elderly. Visitors chose the topics of the classes themselves. And for those who wanted to join the global Jewish community in a single information field, the OC had a special room where there was a constant online broadcast from the organizers' official website.

Teenagers from the youth club “Beshtyki”, which is a member of the #AJT movement, had their own program and separate registration of participants of the World Day. Today, a special program was prepared for them, which included both their own activities and work for others. After going through the main theme of this year’s Day: “In the world of Your creations”, the teenagers began to prepare a joint event with older people, where our youth were to act as co-hosts.

At the same time, adults watched a video about the creation of the world by the Almighty and the genius of His plans. Then there was a discussion that echoed Mr. Kotler's report, which was held in Russian at the beginning of the World Day. Namely: “Preserving Nature as a Commandment of the Torah.” People tried to recall places in the Holy Scriptures where the topic of ecology is directly or indirectly raised.

After the coffee break, representatives of all age groups gathered together to check how well different generations understand each other. Two teams of adults – “Hava” and “Moda” – competed for the title of “the most advanced” and “the most stuffed” in the sphere of slang, subcultural and information and technical knowledge. “Hava” won by a small margin, but both teams enjoyed the interactive activity. The third team, which did not compete, but worked hard for the game, was our “Beshtiks”, for which many thanks to them.

This is how this year's World Jewish Knowledge Day went. We all not only learned something new, but also felt like an integral part of the global Jewish community.
