Traditionally every year at the end September we visit the mass grave in Medzhybozh. On September 22, 1942, a fine and warm day, when nothing foreshadowed trouble, more than three thousand Jews were shot in the Medzhybozh ravine. The fascists prepared this vile and cruel action in secret. At night, they drove the peasants into the ravine to dig trenches, and so that information would not leak out, the peasants were allowed into the town only after the shooting was over.
This year, quarantine did not hinder us. True, the rally was not as crowded as usual, and its participants wore masks and observed social distancing. The main thing is that we did this good, God-pleasing deed: we honored the bright memory of the innocently fallen, and in the presence of the minyan we read the memorial prayer "Kaddish".
