In their memory, the only memorial in Ukraine to the victims of the pogrom stands in Khmelnytskyi. Built in 1925 at the expense of the community, in 2000 it was reconstructed by the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation &quot;Hesed Besht&quot;. On the occasion of the next anniversary of the tragic date, the Foundation held a round table with historians, local historians and clergy. A collection of materials on the pogrom, compiled by the Foundation&#039;s volunteers, was presented at the meeting.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The round table was aimed at remembering the tragic events, sharing the results of studying this topic and remembering the heroes who saved others at the cost of their own lives. The director of the Hesed Besht Foundation, Igor Ratushny, said that the pain of the losses of the past is still felt. But life goes on, so we should remember history and lay a solid foundation for a tolerant present so that tragedies do not happen again in either the Jewish or other communities. It is for this reason that the Foundation conducts numerous research works, involves volunteers and cooperates with various institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The collection of documents, presented by local historian and volunteer of the Hesed Besht Children&#039;s Charity Foundation Leonid Zapadenko, together with volunteer Semen Milman, aroused positive reviews and undisguised curiosity among the participants of the round table. A feature of the collection is the publication of lists of the dead, which were compiled after processing archival materials. Until now, few researchers had been concerned with the issue of names, so most of the dead were nameless.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A well-known historian, employee of the local history museum, Serhiy Yesunin, highly appreciated the work done. He also made specific proposals for improving the collection, which will significantly expand its informative part. Representatives of the State Archives of Khmelnytskyi Oblast also made a significant contribution - they handed over to the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation \u201cHesed Besht\u201d an archival copy of the report on the pogrom in Proskuriv on 15 sheets, compiled in 1919. This document will also be included in the collection. It is worth noting that the Fund\u2019s materials will be stored in the archival department of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation \u201cHesed Besht\u201d, which is a department of the State Archives of Khmelnytskyi Oblast. Thus, the collection can be used by both people who contact the Foundation and those who contact the archive upon proper request.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was impossible to ignore the person of Father Klimentiy Kacherovsky, who managed to hide up to two hundred Jews during the turbulent times. The father himself paid with his life for refusing to hand them over for execution. Father Serhiy told about this terrible incident. Also present at the round table was a direct descendant of Father Klimentiy, grandson Oleg Kacherovsky (the surname was changed due to errors in the execution of documents - author&#039;s note). His memories and testimonies shed light on certain aspects that were previously
