Overcoming bad habits is not an easy task, but it is necessary. The World Jewish Women's Organization "Project Kesher" is convinced of this, which is why they offered regional offices a special method for conducting a flash mob as part of the "Women's Health" program for student youth called "It's Healthy to Be Healthy." This action was held at the Khmelnytskyi Institute of Social Technologies "Ukraine" with the involvement of representatives of the All-Ukrainian volunteer network "Community", which works at the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht".
The author of the methodology, head of the "Position of Women in Society" department and the "Women's Health" program, Marina Konstantinova, took into account the age characteristics of the target group, making the program interesting and dynamic. At the local level, the Head of the Khmelnytskyi branch of the "Project Kesher" VZHEO Iryna Gerasimenyuk and the Head of the youth wing "Kesher Hadash" Olga Nikitina added some of their own methodologies, such as a presentation at the "Healthy Photo Studio" station and an announcement-memoir of what should be abandoned for the sake of health.
The venue – HIST “Ukraine” – was not chosen by chance. After all, this educational institution trains specialists who will later work with other people as social workers, psychologists and physical rehabilitators. This work is the hardest and without good health, worrying about the problems of others, you can quickly waste your own. On the other hand, people who will help others should be an example for them, which means not having bad habits and leading a healthy lifestyle. The university itself understands this, so they gladly agreed to cooperate, and the educational methodologist Litnitskaya Yulia Nikolaevna took care of all the organizational aspects for the best possible event.
At one o'clock in the afternoon, the conference hall of the Institute began to fill with students. Volunteers of "Community" took up their positions near the stations provided for by the program, among which were "I Know How and I Will Give You a Gift", "I Wish You and Me", "Healthy Exchanger". They had a great responsibility for direct communication with visitors and distribution of prepared material. At the stations, students had the opportunity to exchange cigarettes for sweets at a favorable rate, receive literature on a healthy lifestyle and special calendars-memoirs for girls that will help control the processes of their body. Volunteers also distributed contraceptives provided by the Khmelnytskyi Association for Promoting the Solution of Drug Addiction and AIDS Problems "VICTORIA". The work of volunteers of the "Community" VVM at this event took place within the framework of the "Week of Good Deeds" project.
The presentation of the program performed by Olga Nikitina did not leave any visitor of the event indifferent or "sleeping". The students joined the dialogue, which was not conducted at the "presenter-listener" level, but on the principle of "equal-equal", where one could not be shy about touching on any issues on the topic. The public promises of some students to give up bad habits became symbolic. To do this, the undesirable habit had to be written on a balloon and burst in public as a sign of complete freedom. Each student received a memo about the dangers of harmful factors, and the rest of the memos remained freely available on the information stands of the institution.
Thus, the initiative "Healthy Living" has spread to the masses. This will definitely bring its results - for some quickly, and for others over time. Systematic promotion of a healthy lifestyle gradually shapes the worldview of a young person, so all participants in this process still have a lot of work ahead of them for the benefit of society.
