Traditions of kashrut

[huge_it_slider id=”48″]

A conversation on the topic of kashrut took place at the Museum of Jewish Life of the Thiya Community Center with the Foundation's clients and participants in Jewish Renaissance programs. Prepared by a volunteer and activist HBF "Hesed Besht" Leonid Zapadenko, manager Natalia Gerasimenko, and volunteer Svitlana Itkina, the lecture talked about the basic rules, origins, and observance of kosher food.

It is symbolic that the lecture was held at the Museum of Jewish Life - a place where many exhibits related to kashrut and ancient traditions of the Jewish people are kept. Leonid Petrovich used the book “In My Grandma’s Kitchen” to prepare the event - a unique publication that reveals the rules of kashrut in an accessible form, explains its origin, value and appeal. Unfortunately, it is not only difficult to fully follow all the rules in our country, but also extremely expensive, especially for the underprivileged segments of the population. However, knowing these rules and following them, at least “kosher style”, is within everyone’s power. Therefore, the lecture was extremely useful and interesting.
