95th anniversary of the birth of V. Weiser + film

Vaiser_VlZVolodymyr Zelmanovich Vaiser, Hero of the Soviet Union and an outstanding tanker, is our famous fellow countryman and former member of the Jewish community. If it were not for the tragic death of a front-line soldier, this man would have been respected by all the townspeople for his heroism and selflessness. Today, our city has a street named after Vaiser, a museum has been created in his former school, days of remembrance are held in the Jewish community and various educational and cultural institutions. The ninety-fifth anniversary of Volodymyr Zelmanovich's birth was celebrated with a large-scale event at the Thiia Community Center, a film was presented, and the famous hero was remembered. The commemorative event was held jointly with the Volodymyr Weiser Museum at the Khmelnytskyi Interschool Educational and Production Complex. The Foundation's clients and members of the Jewish community, participants of the summer camp for older people, which is currently taking place in our organization, members of the “Combat Friend” organization, the veteran community, and representatives of the city's libraries came to the “Thia” Community Center. The head of the Weiser Museum, Yevheniia Martsenyuk, gave a welcoming speech, expressing sincere gratitude to all the creators of the film “Heroes Don't Die” (see below).

The viewing of the film did not leave anyone indifferent. In addition to the memories of eyewitnesses to the terrible events and the recollections of Volodymyr Weiser's sister, Betty Kryshtun, it features colorful wartime video footage, aerial photography of plans of our city, and footage of the current situation in Ukraine. A book by a modern heroine, our compatriot Lydia Ilkiv, who is currently in the East of the country, was donated to the library of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht”.

At the end of the event, Halyna Atamanchuk and Anatoliy Muzyka performed a front-line song with a guitar, which the entire audience sang along to. Contemporaries are proud of the person of Volodymyr Vayser, remember and appreciate his feat. We offer you the film “Heroes Do Not Die”, edited in the video studio “New View” of the Hesed Besht Cultural Foundation:
