World War II. It still responds painem almost every family in Ukraine. Ltears and blood flowed, villages were burned and cities. In those terrible times, it was not only soldiers who died. The war also claimed the lives of many thousands of civilians.
The Holocaust period entered the history of the Jewish people as a dark line. German fascism destroyed, according to the most conservative estimates, six million Jews in the world, two million in Ukraine, and over 153,000 in our region.
We simply have a duty to convey to the younger generation that it is they who will remain after us as the bearers of the true memory of the tragedy of the Holocaust. The young have a duty to pick up the baton of knowledge and pass it on to their children. After all, such crimes against humanity have neither forgiveness nor a statute of limitations.
Yesterday, the creative workshop of the KhBF "Hesed Besht" together with students of Khmelnytskyi NPO No. 5 named after Serhiy Yefremov held a master class on making greeting cards for veterans of World War II and former ghetto prisoners. This topic is not new for children, they have heard about that universal disaster more than once in memory lessons. We once again reminded the children about the most terrible tragedy of humanity.
After the conversation about the Holocaust, the children were very inspired to create their postcards. Take a look at them. We are convinced that every veteran will be pleased to receive such a postcard as a sign that their exploits are not forgotten, they live and will live on for centuries.
