Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation

May days are rich in holidays, but there are special celebrations in this series - the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, which Ukraine celebrates together with European countries on May 8, and May 9 - the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II.

On these holidays, we remember all those whose lives were cut short by a cruel and bloody war. We commemorate the prisoners of death camps and the numerous victims of the Holocaust. We sympathize with those who were forcibly taken to hard labor in Germany. And we thank all those who survived the hell of the occupation, who raised their homeland from the ruins, and revived the country's national economy.

This is true patriotism, when without loud slogans and beautiful words you performed a real feat. It is truly immortal, and your example is invaluable for us, the younger generation.

The words “Never Again!” sound with particular urgency today. The victorious May Day will always remind us that there is no greater value on earth than peace. Especially now, when the phrase “full-scale war” sounds threatening from time to time. May the Almighty protect us from this…

Happy holidays to you, our defenders! We bow to all those who defended our homeland from the German-fascist invasion. We thank our soldiers for currently defending Ukraine from the aggression of our northern neighbor.

We invite those who wish to visit the Holocaust Museum of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht". The museum's address is 58/1 Kamyanets'ka St., Thiya Community Center. You can see the exhibition and listen to a story about the Holocaust in the Khmelnytskyi region on May 8 from 12:00 to 14:00.
