The Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht” has a renovated museum “Space of Charity”. It is unique: it has no analogues in Ukraine, and there are no more than a dozen similar museums in the world. It took 5 years to fully design the exhibition, tand the idea of creating a museum has been brewing almost since the foundation of the fund. All those years, Hesed employees have been carefully collecting information about benefactors and patrons of the Jewish community, and now it is available to every visitor to the museum.
To create a rich exposition, more than 300 files from the state archive of the Khmelnytskyi region were processed, about a thousand were made photocopies of unique documents.
The museum is designed as a street where super-worthy people “live” – kind, selfless, merciful, compassionate. The Jewish community has always relied on such people. The light in the windows of those people is a symbol of their good deeds and our memory of them.
