Today, an important event took place in the cozy concert hall of our Hesed - the presentation of the ninth issue of the literary and journalistic collection "SHTETL". Everyone who wanted to was able to join this event, full of warmth, inspiration, and deep reflections.

The aim of the collection is to familiarize readers with the contemporary Jewish heritage of the Hesed Besht Community District through the prism of personal stories, essays, poetry, interviews and other forms of self-expression. The central theme of the issue — "WE ARE THE PEOPLE" — is designed to reflect on Jewish identity, its origins and significance in the modern world.
The authors of this publication are people who tell stories about Judaism in two dimensions: past and present. They remind us of the great history of a people that managed to preserve their faith, traditions, and culture even in the darkest times. At the same time, their stories update the contemporary life of the community, which continues to pass on its values to future generations.

The presentation was opened by Olga Nikitina, Public Relations Manager of the Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation. She spoke about the meaning of the very concept of shtetls — small towns where Jewish life once flourished — and how this life is reflected in the works of famous artists. Olga also shared stories about authors who put love, vision, and deep personal thoughts into their texts.
The event was attended by the authors of the new edition, as well as colleagues from the city and regional book collections, artists and volunteers of the foundation. The event was decorated with an artistic pattern of music by our vocalists from the ensemble "Shir Sameakh".
The famous poetess from Hesedov, Lyubov Shlain, responded to the literary beauty with her original poetry. 🤲
The rabbi of the city of Khmelnytsky, Yosyp Teitelbaum, delivered a congratulatory speech on the upcoming holiday of Passover.
Each edition of "SHTETL" is unique, unrepeatable and extremely valuable. We sincerely thank everyone who joined the event. It is a great joy for us to share this event with you. Your interest and support are our best motivation to continue working with inspiration and soul.
