Any disease is much easier to prevent than to treat or cope with its consequences - a truth that does not require special justification. The "Kesher Project" is well aware of this and is trying in every way to spread this postulate among the masses. On April 4, the Central District Library of Shepetivka hosted the "I Have the Right to Health" campaign, which was attended by volunteers and caring people who are trying to protect others from unwanted health problems.

“Health Day at the Library “I Have the Right to Health””
The Central District Library has repeatedly collaborated with both the Kesher Project and the Khmelnytsky Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht” in the field of social actions aimed at improving the lives of citizens, educational work or cultural exchange. Alena Feldman, an activist of the Kesher Project in Shepetivka, head of the representative office of the Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation, took an active part in organizing the action. In the afternoon, invited women gathered in the reading room to undergo a mammary gland examination and take part in a training prepared by the organizers. Harry Drobner, a mammologist at the Khmelnytsky Regional Oncology Clinic, arrived from the city of Khmelnytskyi together with the local head of the Kesher Project, Iryna Gerasimenyuk. Women always await his visit with excitement, but at the same time with obvious excitement. One of the best specialists in his field, Harry Yosipovich, is able to diagnose any tumor, but in addition to this, he also has a rare gift of persuasion in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, undergoing checks and self-examinations. The "Kesher Project" is rightfully proud that the Honored Doctor of Ukraine pays attention to volunteering issues and does so in our organization.
The event was also supported by volunteers from the Khmelnytskyi branch of the Volunteer Network “Community” as part of the “Week of Good Deeds” project. Olga Nikitina, who remains an activist of the youth wing of “Kesher Hadash” even after changing her place of work, also devotes time to volunteering at “Community”, so on this day she had a doubly important and useful role. Olga’s training “I am healthy “!,” “?”, “…” concerned, precisely, people’s attitude towards their health and care for it. What sign can a person put after this statement – exclamations, or maybe a question? Everyone is responsible for themselves and their health, so in case of trouble – blaming someone is not just pointless, but also late. Based on such statements, as well as skillfully selected multimedia content, Olga captured the audience’s attention and brought to the fore the issue of attention to themselves.
Also, after the training, its participants had the opportunity to receive personal intimate protection and contraception, provided for free distribution by our partners - the Victoria AIDS/HIV Center.
On this day, fifty-two women received a consultation from Harry Iosifovich, perhaps thereby preventing a vile and dangerous disease from which no one is immune. The specialist, following the Hippocratic oath and high inner ideals, examined even those women who were late long after the general reception. All visitors received handouts from the "Kesher Project" with information on self-examination and cycle calendars. Thus, thanks to the efforts of many people, more goodness and joy were added to the world.
