Together with the entire Jewish world, the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" and its clients celebrated the holiday of Purim. The most cheerful and enchanting day of the Jewish calendar was celebrated cheerfully and in a friendly circle. They took care that the fun did not leave the homes of those who could not join the general celebration due to health reasons. In a word, in a traditional way they remembered the events that almost destroyed the entire nation, but passed by thanks to the efforts of our glorious ancestors: the beautiful Esther and the wise Mordecai. Of course, there were also surprises.

Visiting sedentary clients

Caring for each client is not just the norm, but a sacred duty of our organization, conditioned by the high humanitarian mission of the Foundation. When clients gather together to celebrate significant events, people who, due to various circumstances, are unable to leave their homes, could be left out of such events. However, this is not acceptable for our employees and volunteers. Therefore, each client should receive an equal share not only of all kinds of benefits, but also of attention. This was especially noticeable on Purim, when a volunteer detachment of amateur animators went to chronically ill, sedentary and lonely clients in carnival costumes with congratulations. The bright appearance of these good-natured people and warm welcoming and humorous words did not leave a shadow of sadness on the faces of our people. This action had an important psychological effect, since sedentary people suffer from a lack of communication, which can lead to complex consequences. That is why the contribution of volunteers to the creation of a real holiday is the standard of Mitzvah for the benefit of the community.

In the afternoon, the animators' group visited the Rehabilitation Center "School of Health" in the village of Pecheski, where the holiday was celebrated by the group of the Day Development Center. It was extremely pleasant to see how people in their years, like children, rejoiced at the sight of cheerful and colorful clowns, played a quiz with them or danced. One of the commandments of Purim - to have a lot of fun - was fulfilled here in full.

Purim game "The Fly-Tsokotuha"

Towards the end of the day, three generations of clients gathered at the Thiya Community Center. The oldest were clients from risk groups, the middle group were young families, and the youngest were students of the Child Development Center and, in combination, children from the previous group. Today is not only a holiday for them, but also a responsible event: watching the stylized Purim play "The Fly-Tsokotukha". The participants of the Youth Club and the younger group transformed into fairy-tale insect characters, in whom the images of the heroes of the usual Purim play were easily read. The children took a responsible approach to the performance of their roles, which brought a lot of pleasure to the older generation, and to the actors themselves.

Diverse, but no less fun events were also held in the regional offices of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht". In Starokostyantyniv, an event for adults and children was held under the title: "Purim Sameach, Aunt Chaya - greetings from Mordechai!" In Polonny, clients gathered at the Perets Markish Museum for a conversation about the traditions and history of the holiday, ending the evening with festive treats in the cafe. The residents of Shepetiv held separate events for children, youth, middle-aged and elderly people, and a fun celebration was also held in the cafe. Festive treats with traditional "ears of aman" were held in Izyaslav and Gorodok. Adults and children baked hamentashes in the Community Center of Kamianets-Podilskyi. Ternopil residents made paper masks and remembered the history of the holiday. A separate celebration was also held in the reorganized youth club "Yom-shi-shi". A thematic evening “Mordechai and Esther – a living example for all generations” was held in Slavuta. Solemn and joyful gatherings were held in the “Warm Houses” of Derazhnya and Letychev. Readings of Magelat Esther were held in all the representative offices.

This year's Purim passed so merrily and effortlessly. Once again, Jews remembered the lot that fell to the people many centuries ago, the heroes and criminals who entered our history as characters of one of the four most important holidays. Hag Purim Sameach!
