"Chicks are counted in autumn," says folk wisdom. And in the fall, we decided to summarize the sports achievements of our clients and count the medals, awards and cups. Among the others, two stories turned out to be the most touching.
On May 17-19, 2016, the "Yunist" sports complex hosted the International Table Tennis Tournament among athletes with musculoskeletal disorders, mental and physical disabilities, and hearing impairments.
Such an event is being held in Uzhhorod for the fifth time. Almost 100 athletes from most regions of Ukraine and districts of the Transcarpathian region, as well as a couple of Olympians from the Republic of Moldova, took part in the competition. The level of sportsmanship of the participants at this tournament was quite high. There were masters of sports of international class, candidates for master of sports. Among the athletes present were many current champions and medalists of Ukraine.
The status of the International table tennis tournament on May 17-19, 2016 was obtained thanks to the efforts of the chairman of the Transcarpathian regional branch of the Ukrainian Federation of Sports for Disabled People with Musculoskeletal Disorders Alexander Lyzants. In Ukraine, this is still the only such sports tournament in table tennis. The first place among the participants in the hearing impaired category was taken by our ward - Shmyrskaya Aleksandra Anatolyevna.
