

On December 7, a joyful event took place in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi not only for the Jewish community, but also for all Kamianets-Podilskyi - one museum became more! On this day, responsible and painstaking work was completed on the design of the museum of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Community Center - the representative office of “Hesed Besht” under the general title “History of the Jewish Community of Kamianets-Podilskyi”. For two years, work was carried out to find information: archival documents were collected, eyewitness accounts of the life of the Jewish community before, during and after World War II were recorded. A large amount of photo documents was collected. Since everyone worked on the exhibition together, they also opened it together and solemnly, opening the doors of the museum to all comers.

A large group of people worked on the creation of the museum, both members of the Jewish community and volunteers of the Foundation, representatives of other faiths - who are affectionately called "friends of "Hesed Besht". A great contribution to the search for historical materials was made by Hanna Kivilsha and Galina Osetrova. Dmytro Anosov was engaged in the design of the museum. Invaluable material for the museum was collected by the leaders (Natalya Galetska, Volodymyr Baranovsky) and members of the search squad of the "Young Peacemaker" club. Based on the materials of their searches, the charitable foundation published the book "Routes of Memory", which describes the events of the Holocaust in Kamianets-Podilskyi. The brochure was also presented during the opening of the museum, as an example of cooperation and joint contribution to the future. Signal copies of the publication, which replenished the series "Library of the Hesed Besht Community Foundation" were presented to its authors and guests. It has the opportunity to develop and be supplemented, so soon we will all We are expecting the release of an expanded version of "Memory Trails".
The opening of the museum was attended by representatives of the city authorities, led by Mayor Mykhailo Simashkevych, employees of the city museum, district state administration, librarians, and members of the Jewish community.
Volunteers who participated in this great cause received thanks from the head of the Khmelnytskyi branch of the All-Ukrainian volunteer network "Community" Vyacheslav Nagnybida. The opening of the museum coincided with the celebration of World Volunteer Day, which became a landmark for all caring people.
After the opening ceremony, volunteers gave a tour of the museum for all those present. Very soon, an automatic tour system will be installed here, which has already proven itself well in the Holocaust Memorial Museum of the Khmelnytskyi Community Center "Thia". The museum itself is open to all and is an integral part of the museum system of Kamianets-Podilskyi.
