The cold November day became much more welcoming for those Kamianets-Podilskyi residents who visited the city's cultural center for a wonderful holiday - the Day of Jewish Culture. It was presented to the community of the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi by employees and volunteers of the Hesed Besht Jewish Community Foundation.
Getting to know the national culture is always interesting. Especially with such a unique and original culture as the Jewish one! No wedding or other celebration today is complete without the famous Jewish melodies “Hava Nagila”, “Sim-sorok”, “Tumbalalayka” and others. They have long since become popular, becoming part of other cultures. Ukrainians have a great interest and love for the Jewish cultural heritage, we were once again convinced of this by the filling of the hall – there was nowhere for a needle to fall, we felt it by how warmly we were received and with what stormy applause we were seen off – as if we were eminent artists.
But the most applause went to our "Hesed" not for artistry, but for its everyday activities that are extremely necessary for people. In Kamianets-Podilskyi, there is a regional representative office of our fund, which largely relieves social tension in the city. For this, our head Igor Oleksandrovych Ratushny was awarded the honorary distinction "For Merit to the City Community" and was awarded the Diploma of the City Council for many years of conscientious work, personal significant contribution to improving the social security of the population and creating a unified multinational society. The awards were presented by Deputy Mayor Vadym Anatoliyovych Savchuk.
Our concert gave the people of Kamianets-Podilskyi a boost of enthusiasm and new impressions. In return, we brought back from the city on the rock another dose of inspiration for work.
