Free, self-sufficient, critical thinker = media literate!
A training on the topic “Media literacy, or how not to get lost in information chaos” was held at the Khmelnytskyi Social Assistance Center. The presenter, Natalia Bhinder, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Khmelnytskyi State Academy of Arts, teacher, translator, author, media literacy expert, and coach-trainer, told the audience and showed them with practical examples how to recognize information manipulation and protect ourselves from the influence of the media and social media. After all, we live in a powerful information flow and are forced to process a lot of different information every minute.
Practical exercises, lots of useful videos, dialogues and group discussions did their job. We hope that the goal was achieved, and from now on, the training participants will be better able to navigate the information environment, distinguish true information from fakes, be able to protect themselves from manipulation, and tell their friends and acquaintances about it.
