Among Hesed's wards, there is a significant proportion of people with limited mobility. They are deprived of the opportunity to attend events and participate in community life on an equal basis with other, healthier clients. This problem deepened when the coronavirus pandemic gripped our region: all mass events, all offline meetings with wards were suspended in order to prevent the spread of the disease.
To maintain communication with each other, understand needs and provide various assistance and support, as well as ensure the opportunity for clients to participate in community life, we organize various online events.
The main goal of the "Window to the World" project is to provide clients of the "Hesed Besht" charitable foundation with modern gadgets, teach them how to use them, and be able to maintain online communication with the fund's managers. It is to implement this task that we launched this project. Our managers, knowing their clients well, identified those who can master modern computer technology, but do not have the opportunity to buy it with their own money.
With the help of the Joint, we managed to purchase several tablets equipped with SIM cards. After making the appropriate settings, we gave them to the first lucky ones. Volunteers conducted thorough training for clients, each time increasing their ability to work with modern technologies.
Thanks to this project, some of our clients finally got the opportunity to participate in our online events. Meetings with old friends, interesting master classes, social networks, the boundless world of the Internet and much more become possible for this category of people. They missed it so much!
