It is very pleasant to see how the younger generation is drawn to the knowledge of their people, how children strive to be together, because they feel themselves part of a single Jewish people. Recently, our community has held several camps for children from Khmelnytskyi, Kamianets-Podilskyi and Ternopil. All of them were aimed at studying traditions, uniting children and adolescents, entertainment and a pleasant pastime in the summer. We want to say that the weather conditions helped us in this, as the Almighty sent us and our children excellent warm and sunny days.
The camp in the city of Khmelnytskyi was held in our community center "Thia". Children studied Hebrew every day, played various educational games, visited museums, parks, and a cinema. An interesting adventure was a trip to the neighboring city of Vinnytsia to get acquainted with the history of the local Jewish community, visiting the museum of the great scientist and doctor Pirogov.
Kamianets-Podilskyi children gathered in their community center and had the opportunity to visit the horse stable, where they were ridden on sport horses. Communication with animals is always beneficial for the younger generation. It instills responsibility, kindness and compassion in children. Kamianets-Podilskyi baked challah on their own to celebrate Shabbat, which further united the children on the basis of the traditions of their people.
A feature of the camp in Ternopil was the abundance of travel. The topography of the region is rich in Jewish sites, so excursion routes to ancient synagogues were prepared for the children. A few days later, the camp participants traveled on a different route - to cities that have a rich Jewish heritage. Outside the community center, the children organized picnics in the fresh air with active games.
Looking at our children, we believe in the future of the Jewish community. We would really like you to get to know our cute and mischievous boys, because you get a lot of positive emotions, kindness and warmth from them. We would really like you to see this for yourself when you come to visit us.
We would be happy to hear how things are going in your community and how your summer is going. We look forward to hearing from you and praying for you all!
