Flaxemberg Family Award Winners

There is such a parable. There is a queue for heaven. The first to approach the gate is a Torah scholar. The guard does not let him in, saying: “Don’t rush, we need to check whether you have studied the Torah sincerely and without falsehood.” A righteous man comes after him. And they did not let him in, saying: “Wait, we will make sure that your prayers were not false.” When a man who often gave money to those poorer than himself approached the gate, the guard let him in, saying: “Come in. It does not matter what was in your heart when you gave money away. After all, your coins were not false and saved many people from hunger.”

From this parable we see how highly valued charity is in the eyes of the Almighty. Charity is part of the Jewish tradition, it is a commandment that every righteous Jew observes. Therefore, our Hesed is supported by many benefactors. Among them are the well-known doctors in Podillia, Arkady and Marina Flaxemberg. They made constant monetary donations for the benefit of our community. We discussed how to use those funds and decided to establish the Flaxemberg family award. Arkady Semenovich recently left this world, but Marina Oskarivna continues the family tradition.

Recently, she again donated a certain amount to support members of our community and active volunteers. This time, the awards went to volunteers Yuriy Zolotukhin (pictured), Klara Vinnik, Sofia Sloboda, and Valeria Ivshyna.

A person's life is a book that they write with their deeds. The book of Marina Flaxemberg's life is beautiful and full of great dignity. The Hesed Besht Charity Foundation sincerely thanks Marina Oskarivna and wishes that the Creator will reward her a hundredfold for her generosity and kindness of heart.
