Since May 2018, the All-Ukrainian Women's Jewish Organization Project Kesher has been implementing the "Truth about Women's Health" project in 10 cities of Ukraine, and one of the key cities in the project implementation is our Khmelnytskyi.
Of course, the necessary and very interesting meeting was held by project coordinators Iryna Gerasimeniuk and Natalya Gerasimenko in the regional oncology dispensary with the assistance of our volunteers, the head of the mammology department Igor Garryevich Drobner and surgeon Vadym Aleksandrovich Prokopovich.
Since the event is devoted to the topic of women's health, the first point was the examination of the mammary glands, which was conducted by I. G. Drobner. 28 women from public organizations - partners and clients of the Hesed Besht CBF were examined by a doctor, some of them were sent for ultrasound and mammography (we emphasize that the examination was completely free of charge).
The project coordinators presented an information brochure "How to understand and accept chemotherapy", published specifically to help cancer patients.
A video series on the topic "Breast cancer in painting and sculpture" was an informative moment. It turns out that people suffered from this disease even at a time when the environment was considered healthier.
Every woman must be able to perform a self-examination of the breast to detect any pathological changes (which does not cancel a scheduled visit to the doctor), so the training video on this topic was very useful. The participants of the training received methodological booklets of the Kesher Project on breast self-examination.
At the end of the meeting, the women received the results of mammography. Fortunately, everyone turned out to be healthy.
