An interregional Shabbaton was held in the picturesque village of Slavske on the eve of the holiday of the Giving of the Torah. Participants from Khmelnytskyi, Lviv and Chernivtsi gathered here. Three days passed not only in celebration, but also in active developmental activities in the field of Jewish informal education. A fruitful stay of people in Slavske was ensured by a team of madrichs, among whom were our Lyudmila Shvartsman, Halyna Atamanchuk, Dmytro Kornytskyi and Anatoliy Muzyka.

It is useless to list all the possible options that awaited vacationers at the recreation center. It is better to see it once than to read about it several times. After all, Shabbaton in the full sense of this event means a fairly rich program. The organizers of this trip approached their work responsibly and meticulously. Therefore, each age group on Shabbaton had its own madrichs, who occupied their free time with interesting and useful things.

The “chips” of the evening events were the “Caramel Casino” and the musical lounges “20 Rules of Life” and “Evening of an Author’s Song”. The last two events became possible because the singing managers of the Hesed Besht Cultural Foundation went to Shabbaton: Halyna Atamanchuk and Anatoliy Muzyka, who took with him his constant companion in life. This time we are talking about the guitar. For all the guests of Slavsky, well-known songs sounded under a moderate string riff. Combined with melodic voices, this created an unforgettable entourage of outdoor recreation that will remain in people’s hearts for a long time.

"Caramel Casino", invented by Lyudmila Shvartsman and conducted by Dmitry Kornitsky, was a wonderful and fun event of a cognitive nature! The quiz questions were related to the holiday of Shavuot, and had different levels of difficulty. Instead of gaming chips, sweet caramels were used, which is where the name of the event comes from. People received great pleasure from participating in the intellectual sweet tooth competition.

Wherever Shabbaton takes place, it is primarily a joint meeting and pastime of members of the Jewish community. A reverent meeting of the Queen of Sabbath, sincere hugs and wishes of “Shavua Tov!” for the next day. The main thing is to be together. And if you manage to visit such a beautiful place as the Carpathians, then this is an unprecedented good fortune. With the assistance of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht”, forty-two people from Khmelnytskyi felt and saw all the charms of Shabbaton. The clients were satisfied and ready to take part in the next similar events.
