Preparations for the Purim holiday have begun at the youth and teenage club of the Hesed Besht Jewish Children's Foundation. Here, they once again recalled the history of one of the four largest Jewish holidays, adding new interesting facts. After all, those who are sure that they know absolutely everything are always wrong. Jews study the Torah all their lives and each time find something new for themselves. The same goes for holidays: the biggest news for the children was that the events of Purim took place over a decade, not a few days.
A vivid example of Purim heroes for children was the dolls that have been “living” in the Hesed Besht Children’s Cultural Center since 2000. Made by masters from Polonny, they are still in excellent condition and are always ready to take part in the traditional Purim game. The club members could not only contemplate the dolls, but also try to control them. This is not an easy task, because the heroes of antiquity are quite heavy. For example, the tiny Esther in the form of a doll weighs six kilograms! Not all adults can handle such characters.
In addition to Purim, the club meeting also dealt with other important things. For example, they held several team games for interaction and speed of communication. Madrykh Vlada Pylypchuk-Katz prepared a number of exercises that entertained the children and helped develop teamwork skills at the same time.
Next Sunday (March 16), the club meeting is canceled. But instead, there will be a collective visit to the Purim holiday event at the City House of Culture. This will be the first joint visit to such an event by such a group of young community members, which in itself is exciting. But the children are very positive - they want to see a real Purim game and feel the atmosphere of the holiday, when the evil lot has passed their people.
