The main event of our community on Hanukkah this year was held on the day when the fourth Hanukkah candle was lit. The “Equator” of the holiday is a wonderful opportunity to come together and remember the glorious times of Yehuda Macoviah and the miracle granted to our people by the Almighty. The Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht” shared the joy of the holiday with clients and members of the Jewish community at the Khmelnytskyi Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Culture and Arts.
It's no secret that Hanukkah is a favorite holiday for children. Sweet sufganiyot donuts, cheerful mischievous dreidels, lights and warmth - all this is extremely popular with children. It leaves warm memories for many years of adult life. Therefore, at the holiday from our Foundation, children not only had fun from the heart, but also brought joy to everyone present. Most of the children participating in the holiday are at risk and live in low-income families. Therefore, giving them real fun with the unforgettable taste of Hanukkah donuts was an important task for the organizers.
The holiday was opened by girls from the amateur dance group in the direction of "Hip-Hop" at the community center "Thia", whose performances have already become, one might say, traditional. Since the summer, their group, which exists independently without the help of adults, has not stopped training. Now it even has a name - "All inclusive". Not all adults understand modern youth dances, but we cannot fail to note the progress that is visible in the development of the plasticity of our young clients.
The baton was taken over by the youngest children. With excitement and awe in front of a large audience, they, with the help of our employees, retold in poetic form the history and traditions of the holiday. The children also demonstrated the Hanukkah Candle Dance to the guests. For the creativity and diligence that the kids put into their performances, they were rewarded with fun, active competitions, well-deserved ovations and, of course, sweet donuts!
Our violinists provided an unforgettable atmosphere for the holiday. Strelchenko Daryna and Vlasyuk Agnesa virtuosoally performed several compositions for violin with piano accompaniment, including everyone's favorite "Hava Nagila".
The event left its visitors with warmth and joy from the lit Hanukkah, children's smiles, friendly greetings, and the traditional "Hag Hanukkah Sameach!" Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" made sure that all our clients and their families could celebrate the holiday of light and warmth with donuts and candles, so that no one was left alone during one of the most important periods of the Jewish calendar!
