In its community, “Hesed Besht” has registered many Jewish immigrants who were driven from their native places to a foreign land by the war. We work with them even more than with our own people. We understand that it is immeasurably harder for them than for the locals. They have lost their homes, jobs, small homelands, and some even their relatives, and have forgotten what peace and quiet are.
Today, for those internally displaced persons who settled in Khmelnytskyi, Hesed organized an excursion to the holy town of Medzhibizh. For many, this trip was a real discovery.
With great interest, the group listened to the story about Medzhibizh at different times, about Tzadik Besht and his teachings of Hasidism. We visited the Besht quarter, in the ogel on his grave, dropped notes with requests into it, as is customary, and one separate one from all the participants of the trip - for peace in Ukraine. We also found time to pray at the graves of Besht and his followers. We visited the ancient Jewish cemetery, near the mikvah. We visited all the places dear to the Jewish heart to strengthen our faith, strengthen our strength, and feel that special grace that descends on people only in holy places.
After a delicious lunch, we returned home. The trip participants expressed their sincere gratitude to Hesed for their attention and care.
