Embroidery: the code of the nation

Embroidery: the code of the nation

I'll put on a white embroidered dress in the morning,

I will braid a red poppy,

I wash myself with the dew from the potion at dawn

And I will go among the people, elegantly like this.

Let everyone around greet the new day,

Let them sing joyful songs loudly,

Because today is a holiday, and they are celebrating merrily

Ukrainians and friends of embroidery day!

Every year on the third Thursday of May, Ukrainians, as well as friends of Ukraine around the world, celebrate Vyshyvanka Day. This is one of the most original holidays, symbolizing the flowering of Ukrainian culture. Traditionally, on this day, everyone comes to work or study in the most recognizable element of Ukrainian clothing - vyshyvanka. Festive events, actions and flash mobs are held all over the world in support of Ukrainian culture.

Since this holiday was established, employees of the Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation also come to work on this day in beautiful embroidered shirts, as a sign of respect for Ukrainian traditions.

Happy holidays, friends!
