Passover is one of the most important Jewish holidays. Families gather for the traditional Seder, and community members meet together. But what if a person is in dire straits and unable to move around on their own? Is loneliness inevitable? Absolutely not, especially in our community. Employees of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht” organized visits to people who cannot attend the Seder on their own on the eve of Passover.
Several mobile groups of volunteers developed a route through the city of Khmelnytskyi to visit more people, and a special program capable of morally supporting the bedridden clients of the Foundation. On the eve of the holiday, while the community had not yet gathered at the Thiya Community Center to celebrate the holiday, the volunteers put their plan into practice. Together with the employees of the Hesed Besht Community Foundation, they visited bedridden clients in their homes, sharing the joy of the holiday with them.
The program of visits was adapted to lift people's spirits. The beautiful costumes of the volunteers seemed to transport people for a few minutes to those ancient times, when the Jews emerged from oppressive slavery in search of a better fate under the guidance of the Almighty. Let us recall that a similar volunteer event took place before Purim, when volunteers visited clients in the guises of cheerful Clowns.
